Gaining Trust For Ecommerce Transactions

As an online “store” owner, you want your customers to trust you and have the desire to come back for more. You should do everything you can to attract and keep faithful customers who have a good experience with ecommerce transactions with your company, who go out and tell their friends about you, too.

If your website is amateur looking, with a cheap or unattractive template or graphics, poorly written content or is difficult to navigate, you are likely to have people clicking away before they even get the chance to see what you have to offer in terms of products.

The first impression is always the most important. This is because if the first impression is not a good one, there will likely not be another chance for a second impression. The first thing your potential customers see is your website. This needs to look attractive and professional and relevant to what it is you are selling. A person should click on your link and know what you are about and that you are serious about quality and customer service, just by how good your site looks.

If the site looks good enough, a visitor is likely to browse through it. This should be easy to do. Search options should be clear and it should be simple for people to take a look at everything you have on offer without having to figure out how to access that information.

Once the visitor has looked around a bit, they will really start to read your content. This needs to be well written, interesting and informative. The information about products should be clear, honest and enticing. This adds to the sense of professionalism of your site, but more importantly helps to sell the products.

At this point, customers will want to make purchases. Your shopping cart software will allow them to choose what they would like to buy and continue on with their shopping before actually “checking out”. This software needs to be easy to use and foolproof.

If you have these things in order you are likely to have customers that trust you enough to make ecommerce transactions with you. This is where you need to be sure that you have good, secure ordering arrangement that will accept a variety of payment methods to meet the needs of the customer.

Gaining your customer’s trust is very important in any ecommerce transaction. Realize that every visitor is a potential customer and needs to be treated properly from the moment they enter your site. This includes what they see, what they read and how easy and convenient it is for them to get around your site and make a transaction.
